Memories from Jim Forbus

This is provided in response to the July 19 posting on the SSAA Website by Joe Vaughan about increasing membership/participation. Among us, we have a wealth of experiences from working together at SSA which, if each of us would post only a few SSA recollections to this website, an interesting montage would "come together" "telling the story" of the development of the agency in which we labored and spent countless hours "building it together".

And---as each one makes a posting, if others of us who may have been involved one way or another with that "story", we need to add comments to what is posted to "round out" the "whole story".

As a trial balloon (to put my money where my mouth is), I have put together what is attached relating to my first job as a Claims Rep Trainee in the Alexandria, LA, DO. Posting something like this may or may not be the vehicle we can use to tell others about our experiences --- and this may or may not may be a means for us to "keep in touch" by telling "our stories", from our perspectives, of what SSA is all about. You may have other ideas on how to go about this. However we do it, I believe posting "our stories" is one way to "move us along" with what Joe was getting at in his July 19 posting.
